My skin has been so dry lately! Between the cold weather, a little bit of extra alcohol and some extra sweets this time of year, my normally combination skin is extra dry and flaky. I have been a longtime fan of Dr. Dennis Gross products. My esthetician Shani Darden got me hooked on the Hydrapure oil free moisturizer and the peel pads (I am a devoted peel addict) so when the company sent me the rest of the line, it felt like Chrismukkah came early this year!Read More
I searched far and wide for a foundation that could do it all, cover, correct, protect and that was oil free and wouldn’t clog pores. Oh yeah, and I also wanted it to be Paraben and chemical free. I tested out a TON of different ones that claimed to do what they said but had no luck. Then I worked with this incredible makeup artist named Andrew Squires on the hit Canadian TV show Republic of Doyle.
Andrew swore by Hourglass Veil foundation and promised it wouldn’t make my very sensitive, acne prone skin break out. Well, not only did it not break me out but it did everything it promised and more! It also looked great both on and off camera! It is really lightweight and has buildable coverage that doesn’t get cakey. It withstands all types of weather (we shot in freezing cold weather in Newfoundland where it literally started hailing in the middle of a take and I’ve been wearing it all summer in the LA heat.) It never makes you oily and as an added bonus it has Spf 15 in it. To make it even more appealing, it contains three percent Matrixyl® Synthe'6™ which supports the body's natural ability to produce collagen and helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, It also contains Skin Tightener ST™ PH to improve the skin's texture and promote a younger-looking complexion. I absolutely love this stuff. I use mine with Smashbox’s bronzer primer which is oil and paraben free as well but does contain silicone. using the two together leaves me with a natural, glowy, dewy look!!
