I feel extremely fortunate that Darin and I have jobs that take us to beautiful places around the world we would probably never otherwise see. As you know we were just in Monaco for the television festival (more coverage on that and Vlog coming soon so stay tuned!) We had a blast and stayed at some beautiful hotels. Paris is a very special place to Darin and I because we got engaged there and prior to that, we took our first trip as a couple together there so we wanted to stop by for a couple of days on our way back.Read More
We spent a total of four days in Amsterdam. In our spare time, we tried to take in as much as we could. One morning, Kim Matula, Heather Tom and I went to explore The Nine Streets, which is very close to Dam Square and has some of the best shopping. Heather was an awesome tour guide and took us to some of the best little boutiques.
The next day, Darin and I had the morning off so we went to The Anne Frank house.
The Anne Frank House was very emotional for me as it would be for anyone. My grandmother was a holocaust survivor so I was deeply affected walking through it. It is definitely something I recommend making a point to see if you ever find yourself in Amsterdam. We didn't have time to see the Van Gogh or Rembrandt House museums but I hear they are a must see if you are there.
After that, I took him back to The Nine Streets (obviously!) and we stumbled upon the Karl Lagerfeld store on Hartenstraat.

Actress Kelly Kruger goes on the hunt for the face mask of all face masks: one that will lighten, tighten and brighten – and leaves the beauty counter empty handed. Yet, from her refrigerator, she concocts the perfect facial remedy. Feast your eyes – and your face – on this: a natural, homemade face mask that will soothe, smooth, heal and even out skin tone for under $7 dollars! And the genius of DIY beauty products is that they can be made with contents that you likely have in your kitchen.
Explains Kelly: “When I think of lemon and honey together, the first thing that comes to mind is a soothing tea for a sore throat. I never would have thought that these 2 ingredients would be the answer to all of my beauty prayers. I have really sensitive, acne-prone skin and I have spent thousands of dollars trying to find the right creams and serums to help with my problem. Until a really sweet lady at a Neiman Marcus counter (where I was yet again going to spend more money on stuff that probably wouldn’t work) gave me this amazing advice:
Honey is a natural antibacterial and anti-infammatory. It absorbs impurities from the pores and the skin. Ancient beauties used honey and milk on their skin regularly to keep their complexion looking young, radiant and smooth. You can use honey as a wash, toner or mask. And you can mix it with so many other ingredients depending on your needs (apples, pumpkin, papaya. yogurt). It’s quite versatile.
Lemon brightens and exfoliates. It’s great for acne prone skin, age and sun spots or uneven skin tone. It is also a natural source of vitamin C and rich in alpha hydroxy acids.
Here’s how to make the DIY Honey/ Lemon Mask: Squeeze 1/2 a lemon (organic is always better) into a bowl, add 2 tbsp of honey (0rganic, raw, natural ). Mix it with a spoon until it’s a liquid consistency. Apply it all over a clean face avoiding eye area. *Also make sure that your hair is pulled back away from your face as the mask is rather sticky! Leave on for 15-20 min and rinse off. If you’re feeling really adventurous, try and sleep with it on.”
Let me know if you try it and how it works!
Ok we have all heard a million times how terrible aluminum is for us. It's the main ingredient in antiperspirants and it acts as a temporary block in sweat glands. The problem with most all natural deodorants is that they normally don't work or smell good. Well I have found the answer to both!! I have turned all my girlfriends on to this and they all swear by it now. Lavanilla Deodorant actually works and smells AMAZING!!! It comes in different scents you can chose from. My favorite is the vanilla coconut but they all smell so good!! No parabens, all natural and lasts all day.
