HOLIDAY PALETTES!

Happy Thanksgiving babes!!! I am so sorry I haven't been posting as much lately but I am back and what better time than for the most exciting shopping time of the year?! There are so many incredible sales going on for Black Friday and the best part is, now you don't even have to wait till cyber Monday to capitalize on them online. I do most of my holiday shopping online because it seems like holiday shopping brings out the worst in people. You know what I mean... the road rage, long lines, traffic, fighting over who's gonna get one, we have all been there. To make your life easier, I will be posting about the best sales for you guys and narrowing down some great gift ideas to help make your lives a little easier:)

To start, one of my FAVORITE things about the holidays (especially as a product junkie) are the limited edition palettes. By now you guys know I am a sucker for a great palette. Its an addiction. I love palettes because I travel a lot and its much easier to grab and go than everything being separate. It is also much more organized in the bathroom to stack palettes and it also cuts down on the time it takes to get ready. My least favorite thing is that most of these awesome palettes are limited edition. So when I fall in love with something, unless I stock up, chances are I won't be able to get it again. Palettes make a great gift for any woman. I don't know a single girl out there that wouldn't be excited about getting a beautiful palette, especially if they won't buy it for themselves.

Here are some of my favorites out there right now.

LORAC MEGA PRO 2

If you guys follow me on Instagram then you saw how excited I was when Darin surprised me with this palette. Like I said, I own so many palettes that I had to cut myself off but this one is kind of the eye makeup palette of all palettes I mean look at all these colors! They are mostly neutrals which is perfect for me because that is generally what I like to wear. This collection is valued at $205 but is selling for $59. If you bought one palette, this is the one I would recommend.

UD GWEN STEFANI PALETTE

Set a reminder on December 1st to be one of the first people to get this palette that Gwen Stefani designed for Urban Decay. It looks amazing and ughhhhh it might be the LAST palette I buy this year... I just can't stop. Come on though you can't blame me, look at all the fun looks we can create with this!!

NARS STEVEN KLEIN CHEEK PALETTE

A limited-edition cheek palette featuring four blushes, a contouring duo, and a glowing Laguna bronzer to bring color in full force. It's pretty much all you need in terms of blush, bronzer and contour and its all in one place!

HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING EDIT

This limited edition face palette is everything!!! Hourglass is one of my favorite makeup lines and I love a great highlight so you can imagine my level of love for this one. The portable, sleek palette is designed to give you everything you need to finish, brighten, contour, and highlight your skin. Featuring the Ambient® Strobe Lighting Powder in Iridescent Strobe Light, a sheer illuminating highlighter that’s designed to emulate the way in which strobe lights capture and reflect light on the face—plus, it can be used dry or wet for a more intense highlight.

All products in the palette are universally flattering and deliver a multidimensional luminescence to every skintone, making it appear softer and lit-from-within. Unlike traditional powder, blush, and bronzer, which tend to go on flat, all Ambient®Lighting products use Photoluminescent Technology to filter out harsh light and refine the look of the complexion. Its beautifully designed, custom compact has a large mirror, and it’s perfectly sized so your Ambient Lighting wardrobe is always within reach. Handmade in Italy, the Ambient Lighting Edit features the Ambient Lighting Blush and Bronzer are blended by hand using an advanced miscelare technique (meaning “to mix” in Italian), creating the perfect balance of pigments in a gorgeous, unique pattern—meaning that no two powders look alike.

What are you guys thankful for this year? Always remember to count your blessings and be thankful everyday!!!

THIS MAKEUP TRICK WILL BLOW YOUR MIND...

It goes against everything we have ever been taught about makeup application. I came across a you tube video of a makeup artist from London. He did a tutorial on this and I couldn't wait to try it. No way did I think it would work but sure enough.. flawless skin that stayed all day! You ready for it? (sorry about the lighting, it was very orangey in the bathroom I was in)

Putting powder on your face BEFORE liquid foundation! Absurd right? Makes no sense! Guess what guys? It works!!! It hides any redness or pores and leaves a very matte finish. If you are oilier you will love this! You will not need to reapply powder throughout the day. I wore it the other day and I was told my skin looked airbrushed and perfect.

Here is how to do it:

Start off by using your moisturizer and then prime your face as normal. You know how I feel about primers so if you're not using one, go out and get it now. I use this one right now by Cover FX and Im really loving it.

Then apply a loose powder. I use Smashbox Halo in light/Medium but you can also use a translucent powder.

After your powder apply your liquid foundation with your fingers. You will use a lot less foundation too.

I also like to add some shimmer for dewiness and I accomplish this by using Armani's Fluid Sheer Then continue with your regular makeup. I then use my naked flushed palette that includes a bronzer, highlighter and  blush.

So what do you think?? Will you try this? If you do, definitely let me know how it works for you!

WHY I ALWAYS USE A PRIMER

[show_lookbook_widget id="182984"]I was really surprised to learn how many people don't really understand why you should always use primers under your makeup. First off, your makeup not only goes on more evenly and smoother but it also lasts twice as long. It also creates a barrier between the skin and your foundation. I always love this because it feels like my skin is being protected in some way. For the eyes, using a primer again, makes it last much longer and it also helps your shadows look more pigmented so you actually need to use less eye shadow.

These are the primers I love:

SMASHBOX PHOTO FINISH

Here you have a variety to choose from. Depending on your skin type, some of these do double duty. If you just want a regular primer use the original one. I personally use the Luminizing one but here are all the options. Photo Finish has been rated the number one primer since it launched. [show_shopthepost_widget id="481200"]

HOURGLASS [show_lookbook_widget id="182960"]

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer is another great one. As you girls know, I am a huge fan of the Veil Foundation it is the only foundation I use. This primer is incredible. It makes the foundation go on silkier and it lasts all day. This is a very clean line and there is no silicone in it. Smashbox does have silicone in it but I think that's why I like it, as crazy as it sounds. I love the thickness of it and feel like it creates a nice layer between my skin and the foundation. This mineral one is more natural and it makes your skin glow. That is why I love and use both!

[show_lookbook_widget id="182976"] For my eye lids, I don't use your typical "primers". You can use any of the obvious good ones like Urban Decay, Too Faced, or Smashbox but personally I rotate between By Terry Touche Veloutee and YSL Touche Eclat. These aren't listed as primers, They are brighteners but I absolutely love them because they are all in one wands. I use them both as primers & brighteners for under the eye and on cheekbones etc. They can also be used as concealers.

So what do you girls think? Do you already prime and if so which ones do you love? Let me know!

Love always,

KELLY XO [show_shopthepost_widget id="481248"]
