IMG_5131As most of you know, we had the Daytime Emmy's this past weekend.  We had a great time and were so excited to be there to support everyone. Friday night was the Creative Arts Emmy's which is the award show that honors all the important people you don't necessarily get to see. To me, they are the most important. Without them, the actors look like shit! I'm talking about hair and makeup, wardrobe, lighting, editing etc. These incredibly talented people are the ones who help make the magic happen. Now let's talk fashion! Those of you who know me know that I generally opt for more simple looks. I like clean lines and not a whole lot going on. I am very petite and small boned so generally if there's too much material or patterns going on, I look like I'm drowning and super tiny (we all have our hang ups right?) Especially in my arms and upper body. This Badgely Mischka mermaid dress was so much fun to wear! It fit like a dream and I had so much fun wearing it! On the hanger the pattern seemed a little much but once I tried it on I knew it was the one! I paired it with my Jimmy Choo Lang strappy sandals but really you could wear any shoes with it because you can't see them(uhhh running shoes anyone?)

For my hair, I knew I wanted to do some sort of braid. At first I thought I wanted to do it all up with a braid as a head band but on me, the look was too severe. So my wonderful hair stylist Lashanda changed it a million times till we found the right one and I was so happy with the result!

And now for makeup... I thought if my hair were all up like I originally planned, that I would want to do a very golden, bronzed look. But when my fabulous makeup artist Brit saw my hair and the dress she immediately knew a red lip and clean eye was the way to go! I'm so happy I listened. I NEVER do a lip because I personally have smaller lips. But I rocked it anyway and was super happy with the look! For this color she mixed Laura Mercier's lip stain with Mac's Ruby Woo

We had such a great time! Above is a photo of Darin and Lawrence St.Victor presenting.
